By uniting officers, enlisted personnel, and retirees into one organization, we evolved from separate groups into a cohesive force that effectively advocates before Congress. This reorganization underscores our commitment to safeguarding the benefits earned through military service and ensuring our voices are heard by the lawmakers who shape our future.

Your Voice on Capitol Hill and in Tallahassee

The National Guard Association of Florida is committed to supporting our members' educational and career advancement. Whether you're pursuing a degree, seeking scholarships, transitioning to civilian employment, or exploring new career paths, we've partnered with leading organizations to provide you with comprehensive resources and opportunities.

Our legislative mission

NGAFL serves as a bridge between states of Florida and National Guard Association of the United States. This unique position allows us to translate local concerns into national legislative action while bringing federal priorities back to benefit Florida Guard members.

Legislative Committee Structure

NGAFL has standing committees that are mandated by its constitution. The Association president appoints chairs and members to these committees. One committee is the NGAFL Legislative Committee to work with EANGUS, NGAUS, and legislators in support of legislation to improve and benefit it's members.
One of the first and foremost objectives of NGAFL is to develop, foster and monitor legislative programs, bills, actions and initiatives that beneficially impact and affect the Florida National Guard.

Annual Legislative Workshops

EANGUS conducted our Annual Legislative Workshop in February each year. We come together with fellow state legislative representatives to discuss the current year's initiatives. After a day of learning and listening to guest speakers we head to the hill to visit our State Senators and Representatives and educate them on what EANGUS will be pushing in congress this year. The time culminates with a reception with some of our Senators and Representatives.

NGAUS holds a Legislative Workshop each year in February to have each state Legislative Chair attend and learn about the priorities and issues they are working that fiscal year.

Current Federal Legislative Priorities

NGAFL is a registered lobbying organization. It is a non-partisan, non-politically affiliated organization dedicated to pursuing positive accomplishments and benefits for our Florida National Guardsmen. We are the professional military organization of the men who serve in the Florida Army and Air National Guard as well as Retirees. NGAFL has more than 12,000 members serve as the state representative to the National Guard Association of the United States.

NGAUS Legislative Focus

NGAUS represents its members and the entire National Guard on the issues that directly impact them, their units, their families and their employers. Since its inception, NGAUS has held an annual conference during which members gather and vote on the top legislative priorities for NGAUS. We prioritize and transform our members' concerns into legislative action.
